about me and how i practice.

my therapeutic philosophy

the therapeutic relationship is sacred. I believe that therapy is a place where suffering is shared and accepted with reverence. my work as a therapist is not to pathologize your suffering, but rather to create a space safe enough for you to share your lived experience and help in the burden of carrying its weight.

In this way, i aim to be a midwife for your pain, with the hope that on this journey you can internalize your
inner resiliency and feel more deeply into the power of vulnerability and intimacy with another person. in addition to being a compassionate witness and companion, i offer an opportunity to explore new skills, practices, and rituals that support your growth and ability to live a more full life.

my therapeutic style

my foundation is humanistic and relational. meaning i view you through a framework of your right to self determination, self efficacy, and self actualization. i inherently trust in your ability to grow, create, and love. i believe the nature of our therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for deeper self understanding and compassion.

functionally i draw from different psychological theories and practices including somatic experiencing, EMDR, IFS, attachment theory, psychodynamic, and mindfulness. likewise i draw from my own intuitive gifts that give me a deeper sense of knowing.

my values in practice

While I practice through the aforementioned therapeutic frameworks and theories, it is important to note they are used with intentionality and nuance that takes into account each individual’s unique identity and lived experience.

Many of these theories were developed by and for European/Western/white cis men and women, and are best utilized when layered with the following frameworks that align with my values and beliefs: body affirming, sex positivity, LGBTQ+ affirming, gender affirming, harm reduction, intersectionality, and anti oppression.
